Yes you are right
Can someone with greater knowledge to me update this to the 2011 models?
Wow! Nice work. Guitar addict has never been more accurate. Seriously though great work!
Is there definitive info confirming that no Historic of 2001 other than the 38 R9's mentioned in the OP had Brazilian fingerboards?
What I mean is, has anyone come across and confirmed a Brazilian board on a 2001 Historic other than the ones already confirmed by Gibson?
Another question: if I understand the OP correctly, all 2003 R9's are BRW?
The reason I'm asking is because I've come across a 2003 Murphy aged R9 and the board doesn't look like Brazilian to me:
That one is outside the serial range.

Thanks, I suspected the info in the OP was inaccurate, or I was interpreting that statement incorrectly.
The quote was "R6s and R9s Do not share with other models, so all 148 R6s and all 674 R9s are BRW." So any 2003 R9 with a SN higher than 9 3674, would NOT be Brazilian. They made almost 2000 R9s in 2003, but ony 001-674 were BRW.
But actually some of the first 674 were not BRW either, as noted.
I read somewhere that in 2011 Gibson started to put steel bushings for the tailpiece studs. Can anyone confirm or deny that? It may have even been on this site.
Both my R5 got them. Thay are 2011 limited runs so I can't confirm they out them on other models.
Ah good info. Thanks.
I think its safe to say this thread should be updated to 2011 and then pour the concrete. 2012 and beyond is shaping up to be a whole new era.
Agree completely, a revamp and reorganization would be most helpful and awesome.
hope the mod give this task to someone that can put it in a clean understandable way for us and all the future new les Paul owners.
Might be over-complicated, but how about a Google Doc? A spreadsheet maybe, then multiple people can add in changes and the group and approve or correct them as needed?
I thought their had beren a perimeter change to the body??
I was wondering if the were any 1995 R9's with Brazilian rosewood fretboards?
Very cool post, most informative, thanks.
