I really dig Hubbard. Used to be Gibson dealers until henry decided he didn't want Mom & Pop shops.
Yup, I don't like to buy guitars mail order so I do a lot of traveling to find what I like and I kind of like the experience of the search, I make a vacation of it.
Now that's my kind of vacationing
$119,999 I wonder if they consider trades.
What a wank the Acoustic is but man that is an amazing piece of Bear Claw, I’ll Say that.
Is that a self playing guitar with the gears?
'17 is the new '59
The idea behind what I was saying was that the "base" custom shop Historic reissues (I mean, non-Collector's Choice, non-special orders, vanilla Historic) are somewhat what a high-end regular production Gibson Les Paul should be like*. With everything below Historics being a very complicated thing**, it's sad that when they discontinue the Historics, the only way to get a proper Les Paul -- that is good build quality, alright specs, and the right looks we all know and love -- will be buying guitars from Japan***, without being able to try a few in a shop first****, which is also getting more complicated due to CITES regulations.
* probably with poly finish as it seems like nitro is not really used on regular production guitars, and maybe some other things could be a tad lower spec for regular production
** non-CS guitars have many serious issues, not to mention they don't , and the new CS guitars just don't cut it for most people for various reasons
*** with some exceptions, like Heritage?, which, unfortunately, might not work that well on the "right looks we all know and love" level.
**** unless one goes over there on vacation or something
2018 is just around the Corner Michael.
Ah, those will be the new '60.
The made to measures so far this year seem to be a "sweet spot" for the reissues.
I wonder if Hugh Hefner signed any of those Custom shop Playboy guitars?
I think I used to go in both of these places, I lived in Alamogordo when I was in the Air Force years ago, both those names ring a bell. Glad they are still around. I bought my MM Axis at Danny's Music Box in EP.
I agree with driving to buy, mail ordering a guitar is a gamble I hate taking.
I thought you were in total love with your TH's and 2016 Reissues mfolet? Have you already sold those models
