      Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz recently sat down for an interview with our friends at Guitarist Magazine. During the conversation—which covered everything from the company's recent bankruptcy filing, to its new models, technology and pricing, to Juszkiewicz' own future with the company—Juszkiewicz sounded off on accusations that the guitar giant's quality control has declined in recent years.

      “Well, to quote some politicians, I would say that’s ‘fake news,’" Juszkiewicz said.

      "It’s easy for people to troll on the internet, but you’re in the media and I think you’re probably more aware than most folks about the negativity that exists and, sometimes, the lack of truth in that negativity.”

      Juszkiewicz detailed the company's 24/7 customer services, and said that less than seven percent of calls the company receives are regarding an issue with a guitar.

      "Our quality today is better than it’s ever been, which is not to say that we’re perfect."

      “The second thing I would say is our sales are increasing; we are growing much faster than the industry is growing, and so that would be a good indicator that there are maybe a few satisfied people. So if we really made junk, then people wouldn’t buy it, especially at the price that we charge.”

    Good job, Henry. Way to sidestep the issue.

    SOME of your products have quality escapes, especially in the context of the prices you are charging. Overall, your soon to be former company puts out some of the greatest instruments ever made and hopefully that will continue long after you are gone.

    Humbly work on the issues of quality you do have instead of trying to brush it under the carpet with fluff. No one is expecting perfection, but we do expect a bit of a higher attention to detail when compared to your competitor's products.

    and calling his (disappointed) customers 'trolls' is just very poor style - though it fits to him

    His "attempt" in trying to be more current maybe? As opposed to "Luddite" which i'd bet some people had to look up its definition.

    He's just sore that he lost Gibson to his hair brain guitar designs, poor QC,over inflated prices and poor investments. Soon he'll be a footnote in Gibson's history.

    Only 7% of calls coming into the customer service lines are in regard to quality issues?
    Yeah, that’s because most people just return them to the store they purchased from and get a new one, rather than waiting months to get the guitar back from Gibson, IF they deem it a quality issue that falls under the warranty coverage.

    I've dealt with their support before....at least tried to.

    Oh my homey jeebus....

    I can't say for sure where his head's at....but I think it very dark and stanky there...

    Maybe I'm just lucky, the only shitty Gibson I've ever owned was a Norlin. All of the Henry Era guitars have been fine.

    I'm curious Paruwi, why do you seem to take such joy in knocking Henry and Gibson in general? Don't you collect Epiphones?

    I've just posted 'information' and I don't knock more on Henry than many others here on the board.
    Why do you care what I collect ?
    And what has it to do with Henry's interview ?
    Even as a Mod I am allowed to have my own opinion on some things,
    or do I have to ask you before ?

    well, if it's fake news Gibson still has a hell of an image problem on the interwebz. Not the same problem, but an impression of poor QC might be worse than a few guitars getting out that should have been red tagged somewhere on the line.
    I've never personally seen a new gibby with the kinds of issues I see posted, but I'm one dude and I'm usually heading straight for the old jazzmasters, jags, and mustangs. I'm certainly not going to say that Gibson never ships a stinker, but I don't think it's a high percentage of stinkers to good guitars. To be fair to the guy that just bought a 3k lester and finds a fit/finish problem like some of the ones I've seen posted it only took the one turd to ruin the whole Gibson punch bowl. To call him a troll is a d-bag move. Gotta say HJ is pretty consistant with insulting his customer base.

    I'm just curious. You seem to start a lot of threads knocking old Henry in particular and Gibson in general...which seems odd to me. Especially since this is a forum for Gibson Les Paul enthusiasts. Do you own any Gibsons? Have you bought any Gibsons since Henry started running the show? Again, just curious...trying to determine your expertise as it relates to Gibson QC, etc.

    I don't care what you collect.

    Yes, I had one, bought new - and have sold it 4 years later....
