Is this a Burny "custom white" Les Paul genuine? Is it made in Japan? It's got a serial number. It's supposedly the model in the last photo, but clearly, the headstock has got an inlay that is not present in the LP from the pictures.

    Guy wants 500 bucks.

    Photos here:

    Thanks in advance. 23621243_10210683699233190_5892771003734001172_n.jpg 23559765_10210683699633200_6109011949876698479_n.jpg 23472911_10210683699553198_1827759327854016897_n.jpg 23472193_10210683700233215_5949654967135882426_n.jpg 23559765_10210683699633200_6109011949876698479_n.jpg 23473214_10210683699593199_4015751189135667990_n.jpg

For the money that guy is asking, you can probably get a MIJ one from Yahoo Auctions.

Generally, though not always (very early Grecos being an example), a 3 screw truss rod cover points to manufacture outside of Japan. Japanese TRCs are usually 2 screw or in the case of ESP and its subsidiaries (edwards, navigator etc), 1 screw.

Looks like its in clean condition.

Yes its a made in China model but truthfully you'd struggle to get a MIJ equivalent for as cheap as $500

Thank you very much! I discovered a couple of Burny on Ebay, apparently better quality, and free shipping from Japan. I think I might go for it.

This is an SRLC-55 - basically the same model as the RLC-55, but made for the Shimamura music store. December 2011 date from the serial. Modern Chinese Burnys without the inlay on the headstock (from ca 2010 onwards, not sure how long they were made) are for this store. AFAIK they've made variants of the RLC, RLG, RSC and RSA. Seems to have had some special variant models made too, on the list of things to sort out later....
