Help: EV RE20 Repair

    I noticed that the voice coil is slightly off center in your picture.

    Not sure how the diaphragm plate is attached to the magnet face, but if there is any wiggle room on re-assembly, I would try to center that coil in the gap, regardless of if the plate edges line up.

    Speaking of the gap, A trick I was taught years ago repairing speakers might not hurt here either.

    Before you stick the diaphram back on take a piece of double sided or rolled up tape and run it around the inside of the gap.

    You might be surprised the amount of magnetic debris that build up and cling along the surfaces of that air gap.

    Metal filings, magnet shavings you name it.
