    Hello Everyone,

Decided to become a member a while back and have been a watcher from afar. Started playing at the ripe ole age of my mid thirties. Something that doesn't come easy for me but I keep trying. Just turned 51 and figured I better get busy before I'm bed ridden. Played mostly acoustics but bought an American Telecaster a while back. Surprised myself that I even did that since I always thought I would strictly be a Gibson person but had the hankering for some serious twang. Now have the urge for an LP. Thought I would hang out and try to learn a few things and see if I could find something that might scratch my itch. Interesting place to hang out. A lot of knowledge and good people here. Look forward to meeting more. REV

And a Danno Amp? What's it sound like, as in 'it sounds kind of like a *_____amp'?

I re-tubed it a few years ago but didn't play it much. I recently had it completely recapped and gone through and it sounds amazing! It doesn't have the pristine ice pick clear highs like a fender would. It has a really gutsy bottom end and sounds fat. Also has a nice rounded smooth tone when throttle back that would be well suited for jazz. I use a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster pedal to get a humbucker growl from my single coils in the #2 boost position. I also use an MXR Micro Amp pedal to boost for uncolored input. The two pedals are close to the same but the SD has a switch to simulate a humbucker. Don't use any dirt pedals, has a real nice overdriven sound for a smaller amp. Also has a built in tremolo and I have the original footswitch. When I brought it to the amp shop the guy got all giddy about it. It's in awesome shape. Really makes you appreciate the power of older tubes amps. Even though it not a high dollar set up I enjoy it immensely! Sorry I can't be more specific on the sound. It's the only amp I've ever owned. :) I think with a reverb pedal and an EQ it would be extremely versatile in a lot of situations. It really pisses my wife off! 1st mission accomplished!

I assume to send PM's on this forum you have to be an advanced, or a paid member? Couldn't find any way to send personal messages.

You just don't have enough posts to turn them on yet.

I think 10 is pretty close, but start a topic or post some more gear pics and the PM feature will work in a little bit.
The front desk answers questions like this if you want to poke around there.
