They really need to understand the concept of "pick your battles"

Wrong "public climate" and bad timing. All people are going to see this as is another potential San Berdoo type of affair.

I remember in the early 1970's when a group of Native Americans "took over" Alcatraz.

Everybody pretty much had an attitude of "yeah, okay", and it went nowhere and eventually fizzled out into obscurity.

Boy, we love to throw around that term "terrorist" don't we? Kinda like other "ists" and "phobes".

    This.

If this goes badly (and I don't see how it won't, even if there is no violence the Feds are going to win the PR war in this instance), they will lose any gains made when they successfully backed down abusive Feds in Nevada.

I remember when a terrorist was someone who uses violence on civilians in order to influence politics. Now it seems to be anybody the PC crowd wants to demonize.

Just turn off the utilities inside the building. No heat will cool them down.

Well, you occupy a federal building with AR-15's? You're a domestic terrorist. Simple as that.

Shoot 'em dead as fried chicken.
You show up with the big boy toys, expect the big boys to show up.

The problem here is this armed standoff against the evil government worked by Cliven Bundy, and now his kid is there as the spokesman.

They seem to have the agenda in wanting to provoke another ATF fiasco like the last Bundy standoff, Ruby Ridge or even Waco.

The basis of their current claim does not warrant this level of armed action, and it appears far more a provocation to incite government violence against 'innocent citizens' than a vociferous protest as they claim.

They have made the same appeal to other armed nutjobs to bring guns as happened last time, and the government backed down.

This has probably emboldened them, and they think it's gonna go that way again, but they do seem to really want an anarchist type of confrontation.

There are holes in their claim of innocent burn of land, as witnesses have testified to seeing multiple slaughter of deer on public land, and the government claims the burning of the public land was to hide the evidence of that poaching and slaughter.

Bundy Sr. had the attitude that he could let his animals graze for free, and he was also not as squeaky clean as this defendent claims to be.

So poach and defraud the government, and then when they come after you for it, make a call to armed militia to 'defend' the rights of the downtrodden.

And it's not just that this group is similar, it is the same group of men as last time.

They have put out 'the call' to these same guys from the first Bundy Standoff to come to the Federal Building and do it again.

<looks for pic of armed seditionists aiming assault rifles at federal troops from an overpass from first Bundy Standoff>

Seriously? All that in the pics because the old millionaire rancher Bundy Sr. made all that money and didn't pay the government for letting his cattle graze on public land?

There is far more going on in these incidents than the 'protesters' will admit.

My definition of terrorist is to walk in and start shooting.

These people are like hippies, with AR-15's. Uncomfortable, ain't it?

Did they blow themselves up with suicide vests? How many innocent bystanders did they kill?

you guys are slowly heading for a police state,

the signs are there, the apparent unaccountability of law enforcement agencys, the constant bandying about the term terrorist missapplied to whip up public fear and the demands made for unquestioning patriocracy are all worrying signs. You guys on here are bright ( musicians generally are ) you see through it but I bet a lot out there don't

Why do I know this ?...............I've lived through 3 coup's in SE Asia they were all proceeded by fear mongering and either the police or army getting out of control

I'm totaly wrong of course......these things only ever happen in 3rd world countrys
