Grover to Kluson

    I know there are conversion bushings for this but I was curious if anyone's used the Kluson bushings in the Grover holes and what you did to make them fit? I really don't like the look of the conversion bushings and don't won't to dowel the holes.

    Why don't you like the conversion bushings? I think they look pretty "right." This is one of my wife's SGs that we took from Grovers to Klusons, using conversion bushings:

    If you're not doweling the holes, you've got to make the stock bushings thicker. I don't know what would be best to that end -- I've seen folks wrap them in tape, but that might tend to be a bit spongy for something you want to stay rigid in its hole.

    Where did you get those bushings? The ones I got from Creamtone have a wide lip and they just don't look right to me.

    Kakerlak's got it. You should be able to convert nearly invisibly.

    Those are the wide flange version, designed to help hide the circular dent/finish damage from the Grover/Schaller washer.

    Thanks guys, I went with the Stew Mac bushings. They look great!
