Hey all, I hail from Ottawa, Canada. Been playing guitar for about 23 years. 13 of those years I'd have to say were just on and off playing maybe 4-5 times a year up until 3 months ago when I started to really start playing again. I've definitely hit a plateau where I need to study up on scales / leads and theory, because I've always played by ear or used tabs to learn songs. But now I really want to have the ability to improvise and "be free" on the fret board. Definitely not there yet. It'll take some practicing for sure, and if anyone has any tips for me that would be great. I get lost and can't visualize things on the fly. But I can take a song like Master of Puppets for example, and play it end to end. It's time to break free from those chains. I mostly play rock, hard rock, some metal, but want to expand into Blues, Jazz and just be able to sit and be creative.
