Hi all. Been chatting about a trade for this Greco LP. Seller tells me it's a '78 and based on the serial number this appears to make sense (E787381). However, I don't have a lot knowledge with Greco guitars and don't know what model this is.

Hope someone can help out. An idea of the value of this guitar would be great too.

    Thanks in advance!

Could be anything! Depends on the pickups, fretboard and inlays material, hollow body or solid top etc. Ask for more pictures and details (Pickup cavities, pickup baseplates, control cavity, weight! If it has a hollow body could be an EG-450B or EG-500B, if it is solid more likely an EG-700B.

Thanks Greco! Nice avatar!! :) Seller has replaced the pups with a 57 in the neck and a 490T in the bridge. I will ask about the other deets. Thx!

More pics. I know the pups have been swapped for 57 classic and 490t and looks like Gibson pots as well. Any more idea of what model this is? Value of the guitar?

Thank you and up the irons!! It's has a hollow body, so EG-450 or EG-500. For the price, it depends on how much do you want to spend on a low end, plywood top Greco! I'd pass!

Yep Up the Irons to you too and thanks for your insight! \../ Well he wants to trade me straight up for my Marshall VM 2466 head. I have the head listed at $825.00 CAD. Even with the upgraded pups you wouldn't recommend due to the pancake body/plywood top?

You can get a better Greco (a Mint Collection or a better crafted EG-700) for that money. Noway!

I recently bought a pretty mint 1979 EG900 Chsb direct from Japan for $680 NZD. Nitro finish and supposed to have Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Still pancake construction and 3 piece neck, but this mirrored Gibson construction of the era. Awesome guitar.
