The "multiple concert" thread got me thinking.

What bands have you seen live that are no longer around, or that basically aren't... In the case of classic bands with one original member. :laugh2:

I saw Pink Floyd at the Rosemont Horizon in 1980-something. Best. Concert. Ever!

Honestly it was one of the worst shows ever!!

Sly was so drugged out he left the stage every few minutes to do more lines. The audience was pissed, the band was pissed, the promoters and everyone else was pissed off that night.

    Queensryche.

Alice in Chains is still around, but without Layne they're just not the same band.

Nirvana.... but that wasn't really a breakup.

Saw the original Black Sabbath lineup in 1999. So kind of an after the breakup, but before the other breakup... :dunno:

I almost got to see the original Gn'R lineup during the tour with Metallica.... but my Mommy said it was too dangerous..... yeah, really.

Savoy Brown, Fillmore, 1971 (or 72). Actually the band didn't break up, but it did for me. This line up with Chris Youlden, Lonesome Dave, Tone Stevens & Roger Earl was the only one that achieved this high quality. Oh, but of course Kim Simmonds is the eternal elemental component in that group.

They also were responsible for my tinitus, but that's a different thread.

Great band for the couple of years they were together.

Pavement. Saw them in the mid 90s and it was brilliant.

The Cramps. I'd have liked to catch them again but that won't happen.

I saw the Ramones twice but was only conscious once, does that count?

I saw Van Halen open for Sabbath at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, around '77, I think. Wasn't even close...

the Buzzcocks with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The Buzzcocks put on a decent show, but Joan Jett just stood there like a bored ostrich at the mic.
