Every time you take robot tuners off a Gibson an angel gets it’s wings
Every time you put robot tuners on a Gibson a kitten is dying....
Send me your robots. I'll use them.
Screw the kittens, I need to get in tunz!
One of my guitars has Gforce- I often grab it when I dont want to deal with a tuner or tuning. Never had a issue with it.
I have a 2015 Les Paul Junior with G-Force tuners. It’s usually my couch guitar, and the electronic tuners are very handy in that situation. I bought this guitar precisely because it had the stock G-Force on it.
Yellowv: Looks great ! What tuners did you put on and is that backing plate a separate purchase?
The tuners are Hipshot open back griplocks. They should come with the plates, but I always make sure I specify I need them when I order. They are no extra charge.
I also ditched the goofy TRC
Nice....I have an SG Future Tribute arriving tomorrow. If it's a keeper I'll have to check out the Hipshot tuners. I agree the "Future" is a bit much. Thanks for posting !
I really like mine. A lot of guitar for the money. Mine is very light and super resonant. It sounds fantastic with the 57’s. My only complaint is the finish or lack there of, is incredibly thin and you can get marks and intentions very easily. So be careful if you like them pristine. If you like the relic’ed look no worries. I let my kid play it for a few minutes and a few errant pick swipes led to this.
I like my guitars to stay in good condition but I'm beyond worrying about a few dings here and there.
First, I have to actually receive mine. I thought the price was decent but told the seller the shipping was too high to go from AZ to TX so I offered him $50 on the shipping. He accepted shipped it on Nov 3 and I still don't have it ! Insane. I looked it up and it seems he shipped it USPS "Retail Ground" which is "low priority" so I guess that means it gets there when ever the USPS feels like. Funny though. It arrived in Dallas on Nov 8 which is only about 40 miles from me and they still do NOT list it as being delivered on Monday the 13th. Perhaps someone at the USPS is busting my chops because I called to find out if it was lost. I mean, come on, it should have been in my town the next day. Pony Express could deliver a package 40 miles in 5 days! LOL
USPS’s tracking system is beyond a joke. It usually doesn’t update from the time it ships until after it is delivered, and calling them is useless because they don’t care at all. You will probably get it today.
I bought an SG with a G Force tuner a while back. It was cool to mess with for a few days and it was fairly accurate. I marveled at how it would just go to town after pushing the button. I hated it though. Playing just didn't feel right. There is something about tuning up manually, it's a sort of ritual I enjoy, whether using a clip-on, pedal or, by ear. Sold it and put on a set of Grovers. Now, all is as it should be again.
I don't have anything against the G-Force, but then again, I've never had one.
But I have to say, the back of your headstock looks KILLER!
I pulled etune and went with Hipshot ...
This is a cool SG, light weight tuners are great on SGs, that black nut ...
Would the "Furture" take an SG Standard pickguard ?
Saw the Buzzcocks (old English punk band) a few weeks ago. A roadie set Pete Shelley's robo-tuned guitar up, then halfway through the first song he started the solo and it was horribly out of tune. Cut to him throwing the guitar back at the roadie and finishing the song up with a different guitar. Got the robo-tuned one back in between songs, strummed a few chords and it was way out of tune again. Swapped it back for a regular one again and played the rest of the set. He looked pissed.
