Have been missing my Ibanez that I sold to my brother a few years ago. This one is a Ibanez Premium AZ242F. Fairly light coming in @ 7.2lbs. This color is Tequila Sunrise Gradation. Might be too much for some, but I think it kicks ass!

Plays great and the oval C neck has some meat so it fits the hand nicely.

Pickups are sweet and the mini toggle switch gives you 5 more pickup combinations.

They are great. I think these pickups have Alnico 5 magnets. They are very articulate and clear. Really shine when you throw some dirt at them.

There's several demos on youtube. Here is a nice short one.

Nice! Love it that the radius is 12", I can never get used to those super-flat Ibanez wizard necks. Does the neck feel like a Fender?

Also how do you find the Indonesian workmanship compared to MIJ?

These just caught my eye today. Funny thing is I said to myself, let me pop over to MLP and see if anyone's talking about them and your post was the first one in the list LOL. I like the 2204 and the 224 with the pick guards. I really like the 12" radius too, my RG470 is way too flat, beautiful guitar though. Problem is I JUST picked up a PRS SE 24 2 weeks ago, but thankfully no one locally has any of the AZs.

I agree with you mmd, Suhr has me intrigued too.

It's close to a Fender Tele neck. It's just a little smaller than the neck on my Swamp Ash Les Paul with a '50's neck.

I was surprised how nice the fit and finish on this was since it wasn't MIJ. It's not a Prestige, but it's damn nice.

For me, the flamed top makes the color scheme work. It kind of reminds me of the Houston Astros 70's uniforms, in a good way. Nice guitar!

Wow, that looks really nice. I wasn't even aware of this model. Ibby Suhr huh? There goes the old G.A.S. monster again. Congrats man, that looks awesome!! :dude:

I have a '00 RG520QSB that's been out of circulation for almost a decade due to badly worn frets. MIJ, mahogany body, V7 & V8 pickups and an original edge trem. I tried raising the trem a little in an attempt to reduce it from fretting out and that REALLY screwed it up.

A new shop opened near me and I brought it in to get it fixed to scratch my Ibanez itch. The guy did an amazing job on it. It's so much fun having it back. I just realized that have so many amps now that it would compliment that I've never used it with. I've only run it through my practice rig so far. If I only had time to drag them out. Life is so busy right now the only time I take off from work is to handle things that need to be fixed, built, registered or cleaned out. Growing up sucks. :laugh2:

I have to say not only does she play effortlessly, but it's the most comfortable guitar I have ever picked up.

Haven't even touched one of my Les Pauls since I got this one...

A real shred machine you have there.

That demo by Chris Brooks was mind blowing. I'd never even heard of the guy. Another in the vein of Satriani, G. Govan, etc. There are so many incredible guitarists out there in the world it makes me want to sell all my guitars and take up accordian. :(
