OK, now I'm feeling pretty retarded! Midnight's Link above works too! Just doesn't like mine!

OK! Fine! I'll just pick up my toys and go home!

Thank you so much Dennis! :h5:

Good to know there are others of like mind in the house!

I was nervous about putting this up for that reason, figured I'd be ridiculed to scorn.. :run:

I have been very pleasantly surprised so far at the genteel nature of most of the members in here!

Now I know why I was directed to join this forum out of all the others!

    God bless U2!

I have had some questions about the guitar sounds on the recording so I thought I'd put the ones I can remember out there in case anyone else is interested...

It's an HD-400 I picked up used and those are my own concoctions!

Yes there is reverb (cavernous), Delay, Chorus (heavy) all run in stereo direct into the board.

There is also this to control a bit of the brightness coming out of the guitar.

I stopped using an amp and started going straight in like what you hear. Fixed a lot of it.

I also remembered I had a Tonebone Dragster by Radial Engineering hanging around and slapped that onto it to take some edge off.

It works on the cable of the guitar to increase the loading on your pickups like a longer cable would do, lowering the resonant peak of the pups and darkening them up a bit!

Just a little dab will do ya!

I put this set in just a bit ago and posted under our Fender section "Mexicaster overhaul'.

This is what you are hearing in the recording. I use both positions and a secret blend of both for 'come to the river'. LOL! You can hear me switch between them before a song.

They have a nice snarl to them that's even behind even the clean stuff.
And you heard them crank on 'Better End'! 2nd song that went well, lol!

Recently read some reviews on the Rio Grandes since I don't know much about them either.

One of the reviewers pointed out how articulate they are without being flabby!

He said they respond well to your touch dynamics.

I want to add that that seems to be the case for me too!

The only difference in the volume that you hear in the video between rythm and lead is the strength of my attack.

I am not using a boost box or volume pedal as my HD-400 is on a stand next to me.

Long black train is a perfect example of this.

You can really hear it on the slide I do over the Am during the pause in the verse, and both solos are done with just leaning into it a little harder.

Wayfaring Stranger is done with the Barbecue in the bridge position for the bright snap and snarl you hear.

For those Tears was done with the Texas pickup in the neck position.
