not a fan of metalcore, or as us newport kids know it as hardcore....there are tons of groups that do their hardcore thing and i respect them for their interest in music but i dont think i could stand listening to it for more than 5 minutes. Im more of a late 60's early 70's blues rock guy. I also like many other tasteful genres of music but late 60's/70's rock blues is my thing. You know zepp, cream, the who, james gang, free, mountain, the yardbirds, slade, the animals etc. all those blues and psychedelic bands.

There's hope for the future then. Welcome to MLP.

I went to school in Portsmouth for a bit. My aunt taught at Salve Regina. Newport is one of my wife's favorite places to visit when we're back east.

Nicely done! The next time tele dude shows up, and he will, tell him to turn it down!

Great playing!! I liked your solo more than the tele players hands down. It was way more soulful and if I had those chops at 15, I would be looking at doing this for a living. You clearly love the guitar -keep on doing what you are doing.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N16g48ZJaM]YouTube - ‪1965 Gibson SG Junior, Silvertone 1482 demo‬‏[/ame] Heres a little demo of the setup I was using that I made recently. You can hear it better in this video. Its just using the camera mic but the tone is super close to what it sounds like in person.

Very nice Clapton/Beano and Mick Taylor type tones for sure.

Can you get some pretty good Kossoff tone with that amp?

Very cool! Can't wait to hear it.:dude:

Duane, Dickey, Kossoff are my favorite players, and the type of tones I go for.

All that plus some Chuck Berry.

Dude, keep on rockin'. You've got that something that not many others have. If I could play like that at 15 (hell, even now for that matter), I wouldn't be sitting here on my laptop right now.

You've got it, bro. Keep on using it. And tell the Tele player to turn down or we'll break his knee caps...:naughty:

At 13 in 1971 I bought my first "REAL" guitar a 65 SGjunior......finally a sweet guitar that played easy and sounded correct and stayed in tune . Now as for that cheap sears POS ....Felt good to do a Pete Townsend and sling that damn thing into dumpster at the local 7-11 on my way to pick up the SG. Ah...the good ol days.....
