The Page #1 was one of the best Les Pauls I ever played.....with a board that's almost thicker than the neck.

HELLO..........And I always thought the great voice of a Paul came from the guitarist playing it. Shows you what I know.:)

And by the way, ever listen to the "Beano" Album? Not a bad voice coming from a thin neck Paul.:naughty:

yeah, cause if peter green had played a think neck LP on those albums his tone would have sucked

surprised the Beano album's crappy tone was enough to launch the LP/Marshall revolution...what with it being a thin necked LP...

Actually his best recording where with the huge neck....

Still even if you shave the wood, the sound remains huge because of wood memory, year, wood remembers it had more wood where there is no more and compensated by altering its molecular state in other parts and the tone remains the same.

If you have never experience wood memory, then you don't know tone at all.:D

Nahh guitars players are worth shit in this thread, actually even if the guitar is not played you can hear its sustain last weeks and weeks with huge warmth, never ending tone because if its neck.

HAve you ever had a Ibanez thin neck sound beautiful?

The thing is your Bloom is a beautyful guitar, But with the Claptons,It's a first run of 1 of the most impotant times for LP's in their history.Plus, Compair Clapton to Bloomfield. Who was more important in music. When Gibson put out the Bloomfield did it get half the attention that the Clapton is getting .I'm also sending a PM to you. As I said before, There are only 25 in America, Next month I'll have 1. S/A I have too take photos in a lower resolution so they can be viewed. I have my reciept and will post it.

Yes Clapton got the commercial attention, but he is not in the same league as Bloomfield and many others as a player.
    Come on get real!

C'mon Dave. Give these guys a break. They don't want to accept just how influential he was with his work on Dylan's "electric" albums or even with Paul Butterfield and Electric Flag.

They're too wrapped up listening to the cool country sounds of "461 Ocean Boulevard."

I wonder if you guys were around in those days?I guess Cream, Blind faith Derick and the dominos was just top 40 miusic. Like the Doors. At 55 years old I was around during those times. Bloomfield was a name but Clapton, Hendrix the StonesThe Who, Miles Davis etc. were the center of the music world. Also, have you forgotten the work Clapton did with the Beatles? I'm not taking anything away from Bloomfield, but how much real influence did he have on music? Bloomfield was a fine guitar player. But just possilby if Clapton had not used an LP on the Beano album, than may Bloomfield would have not picked 1 up.If I recall correctly he used a few teles in his day. It was Clapton who brought the LP to the Blues and Rock world. Or maybe I don't recall that correctly.
BTW,I never listened to " 461 Ocean Boulevard." what is it? As for Dylan , if it wasn't for "The Band" he might have had to go back to folk music, which is what made him what he is today. Question: what is a bloomfield LP worth today? I saw 1 new On MF
today for 7k. Used 5-6k. After 1 year lets see what the Clapton is worth. Don't hate, I just got very, very lucky. And I know it.
