When did Gibson start selling Guitars online in their own shop :hmm:

I knew they sold accessories and gear - just not 'complete' guitars

Probably because of HJ losing faith of Guitar Center?

Or because of Sweetwater rejecting so many guitars with quality issues.

    This is news to me.

It seems a logical next step in the way their dealer network has been shrinking, from small mom-and-pop stores to big boxes to Amazon to *poof* direct-to-consumer.

I clicked on the Traditional to find out Gibson calls it the "mythical" Les Paul! Hahaha! And you can't even choose by weight or top, like Sweetwater lets you do. Just pay your $2700 and . . . see what Gibson decides to send you.

The nice thing is that they get to charge MSRP through the store!

If nobody will buy it at those prices - why do they piss at their few remaing dealers nonetheless with such dumb ideas ?
Must be one of King Henrys latest brain-farts

Yep get rid of all the dealers, so consumers don't see your brand when they go to buy a new guitar, that's real smart Henry.

Henry is obsessed by presenting himself as the Steve Jobs of guitars, to hilarious results.

His next step will be to open Gibson stores.

I'd never seen that before, sell on-line for full retail and eliminate those pesky dealers at the same time, too !!!!

Well, he is diversifying and purchasing other related properties.

    From Wikipedia -

Gibson Innovations (Philips brand), TEAC Corporation (Teac and Esoteric brands), Onkyo Corporation (Onkyo and Pioneer brands), Cerwin Vega and Stanton,[6] as well as professional audio equipment from KRK Systems also pianos from their wholly owned subsidiary Baldwin Piano and music software from Cakewalk.

You could stock a store with those items and make it worth while to visit.

Didn't know Gibson owned KRK. I have both studio monitors and Headphones from them.

With them being owned by Gibson, I'm surprised they didn't cost double what their competiters are.
