What is the color of the 2nd and 3rd counting from the last picture ?? (its the ones that are a bit orangy ) on tattooedcarrot's last post??
btw: is the 1st one counting from the end tobacco burst ??
God, I really love those "Lemony" bursts. Your a lucky man gonzo... I wish they would bring this model back I was actually a bit over halfway in saving up for one when they got discontinued and by the time I had the money the prices skyrocketed. Oh Gibson.. such a love hate relationship..
Had mine since the summer.
Mine is a tobacco burst with a 50's neck and yes it is chambered. It weighs 8lbs even.
Did you swap the pick ups or did you just add covers on the burstbuckers?
I have red somewhere the space on the treble pick up is different than some other gibson bridge pick up. is it true?
how would you rate the burstbucker. I am to buy a second hand faded and I don't really know if I will keep the burstbuckers or put other PU in it.
any advised would help?
best sound per dollar spent Les Paul
ok, but could you please be clearer?
If you're interested in the faded guitars you need to read through the sticky thread at the top of this forum. There's a lot of good info and pictures in there. You'll find out that there are Standard Faded and Traditional Faded which are a little different. There's too much info on these guitars to put in one post, you need to read through that thread. Also, there are a run of Standard Faded that were modded by Larry Corsa and have special pickups to emulate the Peter Green sound. Mine is one of the modded guitars by Larry, #82.
All the info you could want is to be found here:
unfortunately, i'm going to buy a 2006 faded standard with BB pros. that's why i'm asking about them. I know the faded range, I already had a SG, Flying V and Tribute 50 lp in faded finishes.
I've never heard of that before.
For whatever it is worth, I am about to swap the Burstbucker Pros out of mine and to have Burstbucker 1 & 2s put in.
no need! save your money, just change the magnets to Alnico 2's and you will have the same pickups
I was going to do that. Skatterbrane had very kindly offered to do the swap for me for just the cost of the magnets but that would have entailed me removing the pickups, sending them to him, and waiting for them to come back and my LP is my only electric right now. I was still going to do it but saw a set of BB 1 & 2s for sale here the other day which another forum member had taken out of their R8 and the price was great so I jumped on them. My BB Pros are being sold once they come out and I have already been offered $50 more for them than the BB 1 & 2s cost me, and this way my guitar will only be out of action for a day or two (perhaps less depending on how busy the tech is when I take it in).
I am also having top hat knobs and pointers put on and I'll grab a yellow switch tip at the same time. Now all I have to do is find a nickel bridge and tailpiece.
Are the standard faded 2006 60's chambered or weight relieved?
An '06 Standard would be weight relieved. In '07 the Standard's became chambered, though I understand that some of the last Standard Faded's were mixed, some chambered, some swiss cheesed.
I had this one until yesterday...
only let it go because this one is inbound
and her sister too
Nice, I see your #112 has matching volume and tone knobs. My #82 does also. Are the pickups not OOP? What is inbound? Corsa?
