Anybody know anything about this? I was told at my local guitar store that alpine white or black Customs would only be available with maple fretboards right now. I think there is a dark brown Custom available with the ebony, or rosewood fretboard, but I'm not sure. He sent me this picture, and here it says that the maple fretboard is a limited edition. I'm looking at purchasing a new Custom in a few months and at this point, I'm not sure what is going to be available then. I must admit, while I wasn't crazy about the look at first, it has grown on me and I'm hoping this 'limited edition' will be available in a couple of months.

Those maple fretboard Customs are most awesome. But, not in black or white, those need ebony boards. Get a flamed top or a natural or a sunburst if your getting a maple board.

I've been told not to expect many, if any at all, Gibson models with Ebony fingerboards any time soon. The Maple model may be a stopgap until they can sort Ebony stocks out.

If you want a Ebony 'board model then sooner is most likely better than later. If you want the Maple model then get onto your dealer now, as Gibson will be accepting orders if there's Point Of Sale now in circulation.

Far as I know, the regular Customs will have ebony, like they always did.
There is the Classic Custom that has baked maple. But thats not really a Custom

My local guitar salesperson was told by his Gibson rep that until further notice, this is how the Customs are going to be made. He didn't seem to indicate that it was a limited edition, but he is waiting for confirmation from the Gibson rep.

I was told that right now, ebony was not available, unless it was already in he store. No new ebony board Customs in white or black are available.
