Gibson Branded Pots Suck (A Rant)

    The pots in all the Gibsons I own work great. I don't own anything newer than 2014 though. Don't know if they have slipped since then?

    Buy a can of Deoxit. That normally clears things up for me on the pots and switches.

    I don't have a single Les Paul with a PC board. Threw that junk away and rewired all mine to 1960's wiring specs and happy for it. Just running straight 500k CTS pots, Mallory 150 caps, and cloth/shielded wiring. Simple and reliable. I have to hit the pots (and switch) with a little Deoxit once in awhile.

    I’ve never had a problem with them being scratchy, but man the taper on those things suck; even the ones in the historics. I replace all of them with the wdmusic CTS 550k pots.
