I've had a lot of fun with this guitar but bought a 335 that needs playing. 1959 Gibson ES 175D. Why buy a reissue when you can buy this 57 year old guitar that has the great tone woods from Gibson's Golden years. The great ones get played and this is a fine example. Easy playing and great woody tone. Beautiful original tobacco burst finish, Check out the flame on the back of the guitar!! Brazilian fingerboard, nice chunky neck profile, no breaks, lots of natural wear, dings, some finish checking. The guitar was refretted before I bought it and are in good shape, same with the original parts that were stripped. Reissue parts are: ThroBak pickups, Gibson tuners, CTS pots, knobs, tailpiece, switchcraft switch and harness. Original parts are: pickguard, bridge, truss rod cover, case, all woods (body, neck, fingerboard), binding, inlays, nut.

    $3,950. shipped & insured lower 48 states.

Was the old input jack pushed through the guitar or simply replaced with that one? The original was a plateless jack. Thanks, it's a beauty!

The jackplate was a 50's plate as well as the screws. There are no cracks or enlarging of the hole. The impression in the original case makes me think it might have been original or added early on in it's life.

Lovely instrument. I am in the market for one. If I can sell some of the items I have listed here, this baby will be coming to FL if it is still available.
