Started as a worthwhile thread anyway...
From the web research I've done, (and it took a good deal of searching) Gibson changed in late '58 - early 59 to .036 x .106 wire on LP's. The fretless wonder frets from circa 56' were dressed down to an average height of .022 - .025
I'm getting my 13' trad refretted with .036 .106 not because of historical accuracy but because I hate the school bus shaped speed bumps Jescar .055 x .95 that all usa gibsons leave the factory with currently.
