I am just learning about different MIJ guitars. The FGN builds are great and not as much as many other brands. I am asking anyone with FGN experience to give me some advice on their best models. Also, any Edwards lacquer finish LP's. Thanks.

@paruwi has at least a couple FGN guitars, and always swears by them.

Yeah @paruwi have a few FGN guitars, and will probably chime in. My guess is that he thinks the black ones are the best :D

The question is : What exactly is 'best' :hmm:

    closest to old Gibsons ?

or best interpretation of a (modern) 'Single Cut' design ?

for me the FGNs are 'best bang for my €uro'

I've paid less than 1000€ on average for my 8 FGNs
(4 had been new, 4 had been used)

The workmanship is fantastic compared to other famous brands

I'll try to post a few pics later. I have 4 FGN/Fujigen branded guitars and 2 History branded ones. I think the History guitars count as they have many of the same features, including their circle fretting system. Like Paruwi, I think they're one of the best bang for the buck guitars out there. All are phenomenally built with quality woods to exacting specs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Thanks for the facts. I have a question. Why are the black ones best? I've gotta know that. Overall, FGN guitars make the most sense. They cut out the middleman. I mean why buy a Fujigen built guitar from any other company? I've never played a Fujigen build that wasn't a very good guitar or better. FGN is an amazing source.

I have learned that any FGN is "best". Just pick your favorite design.

    They're the dog's bollocks.

Not just killer guitars for the money, but killer guitars at any price period.

    I cannot recommend them enough.

Unanimous opinions from some of the best players on the planet is RARE! Still I gotta find out why the black ones are better.

The best players on the planet? That's flattering but totally untrue in my case.

The comment about the black ones being better was in jest. Paruwi owns 8 FGN's, all of them in black because that's just what he likes.

For your viewing pleasure, my FGN/Fujigen and History family. Upright from left to right; Fujigen Expert FL, FGN Private Reserve Iliad and a History SH-L2. Laying down are my 2 NCLC-20Es.

Since that picture was taken, I acquired a History GH-FF. It's a full hollow body.

    I have a FGN NCLS-20R

    It's GREAT!

Review here ... btw - one consideration is I'm
Not sure if the fact it has the circle fret system means that it has to be REFRETTED with circle frets (arced frets) .

Mine has pristine frets so not an issue

It has lacquer finish, great wood, great craftsmanship (of course ) and sounds fantastic
