To me, one of the biggest, most obvious blunders in recorded Rock & Roll, as well as a defining moment in the development of Rock and Punk, is Jack Ely coming in too soon with the vocal after the solo in The Kingsmen's "Louie Louie." I love how he catches himself and stops, the band just thrashes ahead. There is nothing pretentious about it; none of the Rock-God, cult-of-technique silliness pandered to so much in these parts. It's just all attitude. Pure Rock & Roll. Love it.

And because it bears repeating, here it is:

I like the end of "Happy Jack". They had to lock Moon in the broom cupboard or some such. He was apparently jumping up over the top of the walls. Townshend says "I saw ya!"

The same thing happens on many early AC/DC recordings. Squeaky kick runs rampant... but I like the way it sounds for some reason.

I think this song in general is a great recorded mistake. Haha.

Mistake: Just as Ginger is coming out of a verse to chorus drum fill, when he makes the last shot on a mounted tom, Ginger slightly clips his ride cymbal (it's very faint but audible)

my guess is the upstroke recoil grazed underneath the cymbal

wonder why they left it in?

probably few people would notice other than drummers – which i am not

also, Ginger has/had a tendency to accidently click his sticks

on the other hand, given his pharmaceutical history...

This is one that's always bugged me because the bass player makes 2 glaring mistakes right in a row. About 2:20 area.
