A guy I sort of knew in a previous life had this '83 Explorer & Univox on Craig's and Im the early bird
So I went n grabbed 'em . He said they were deserted in a hot Louisiana garage (that could translate to ...Katrina). So the neck was hangin like a loose tooth..heel was a little cracked .The tongue of the joint just kinda slid right out

So I got it home ,clamped up & went on the road for two weeks while it set in my kitchen
When I got back I had the task of trying to remove all the rusty screws without breakin heads off...
Was actually able to keep the pots n switch after some cleaning
Now it had a factory Kahler rout (the stoptail mout version, thankfully). The guy had covered it with some odd piece of pickguard . To heck with that says I, some black leather dye in the cavity did the trick

Pickups in it were a dead DiMarzio Super D and this 17k sealed thing . Not really sure what it is OR if I wanna plug it into anything ;) Gibson ? 80s Schecter ?

Finally got all them rusty screws out n polished her up a bit ,electronics cleaned up, a new tunematic . I decided to go with a 36th anni PAF in the bridge and a Schuyler Dean humb sized p-90 from the parts drawer, that didn't quite cut it in the bridge . A BWB pickguard to top it off AND I even bought a case for it so I could take it on the road

Now ,I never considered myself an Exploder guy .....lots of V's & Birds, but not so hot on Exp's
BUT like Arnold Ziffel, a little character goes a long way ....
