    Midlife Crisis double score!

I recently sold the last of my gigging gear that I didn't want to keep after quitting a band one year ago. I have a birthday coming up and I decided that a grand stupid gesture was in order......a stupid gesture that would celebrate my teens and early twenties. I can't go back in time but I can purchase icons from my youth.

    Tada....

I haven't had a locking tremolo guitar since I had a locking trem white strat in the 80's when I went through my Adrian Belew Twang Bar King phase. I can honestly say that the EVH and the D-Tuna are as much fun as they look. I've done enough massive dive bombs where I pop the harmonic on the G string/5th fret to bring back big hair and chicks with leggings and long sweaters. It feels right. It just feels right. The lunch box head brings the brown. Very brown tone-ish.

Past middle age and acting stupid. It's joyful.

    Congrats.

I also have that guitar and I truly love it. I play it A LOT MORE than I thought I would.

And it looks as killer today as it looked in the 80s.

I like it much more than my old Orange Tiny Terror because the EVH is much more versatile. The Tiny Terror is a great amp but it's more of a one trick pony. I also have a Vox Night Train that I like equally to the EVH but the sound is very different. Jangle vs Brown Tone.

Awesome! I had the orange and vox as well...I liked the Vox more overall for that jangly kerrang tone it had....but yeah this EVH seems hugely versatile, tight and heavy...can also get classic clean and gain tones from what I've heard. Very nice! Love the guitar too!

I have a Peavey EVH and have a new model on the way to me next week.

I've played a LOT of guitars over the years, and I've come to the conclusion that EVH Wolfgang guitars are the guitar world's best kept secret. They are MONSTERS - perfect tone, swiss-army-knife flexibility, necks like butter, best in range fret jobs. They really are a modern day masterpiece. Even the cheap "standards" are WAY better than they should be.
