I just scored a 2005 on Reverb for $2,500 that was listed in excellent first owner/lightly played condition. The seller dropped the price from $2,700 today and I received an alert (love that feature).

Should be here sometime next week...

    I agree, it's a fantastic player :thumb:

All seriousness I love everything about the G0. I dig the plaintop with the darkburst finish.

2015 G0 which I believe to be a BOTB Page 129 run. There's a similar one from the run that's been in my local GC but I have yet to compare serial numbers.

Anyone put a Faber bridge in their G0? Thoughts?

Not sure if this is the right place or if it has been posted before - but since I used this tread to research the G0 that I purchased (thank everyone very much) i thought I would post it. Appaantly they are still making, or have started to make again, the G0 series.

I clicked on a MF email about their "Guitars of Distinction" and as I was clicking around the serials are "G0xxxxxx". No push/pull or other special electronics so maybe its just finish options.

I bought a G0 and have not been disappointed. It plays very distinctly, almost creeps up on you, then after several minutes of playing, all of a sudden -- you realize you just bought an awesome guitar (bought online). It's the subtle way it just grabs a note you might think could be sharp. You strum a chord, like a simple chord progression of E, A, D. What I notice is the chords are perfectly in tune. Most guitars just aren't... they are either TOO in tune, like a perfect digital version of what a D chord is... or they are just always slightly off. This G0 just grabs the chord and you begin to just play because you aren't distracted by the guitar. This G0 is a 2010 Darkburst with RS Guitarworks PAFs, and some custom wiring but not sure what (some RS Guitarworks -- but not the pots) Pretty sure it has a Tonepros tailpiece and bridge. I think some of the knobs, plastics, and the switch tip are not factory either. Plays great, but I will continue to work on it, and will eventually replace the electronics with the RS 50's wiring, not sure what caps though. I'd love to know what mods or tweaks others have found to be effective on this model. Wish I knew what all the specs and mods are.

I changed almost everything in mine. I bought them because they are custom shop, great necks, tonewoods and feel awesome. I changed, tuners, nuts, pickups, electronics and thinking about new bridge (Faber). I know, it isn't the same guitar anymore, but I am not selling, so I like them this way. I like Gibson guitars, but not a fan of the hardware and electronics and QC.

Worked through this thread over the weekend. Interesting history and info on the model and beautiful plaintops which I prefer ("subtle tops" IMHO). I am now a fan. The thread is a great resource for shoppers. Thankfully I am in downsize mode (actual downsize..not "sell one buy two" downsize ha ha). Keep those beauties coming, too bad some of the pics have old links.

I've got a 2005 G0 VOS. I've upgraded the electronics, had a Wolftone Marshallhead pickup made for it, added reflector knobs and taped a picture of Marisa Tomei to the back of it so she could be close to my di.....

I've taken this guitar on the road for a few years, countless shows and studio work - it holds up and just never disappoints.

Wow, and Marisa Tomi on the back there too! Nice!
I got my 2002 R-0 on the 30th of May 2004 from Tiago @ Guitar Center in Hollywood. I paid $2,200. I have all the tags, COA, etc. It had a list price of $4436.00 and was marked down to $2899.00 I had a "Pro Account" with GC so anything I wanted was @ 10% over their cost. Those Pro Accounts went away after the scum at Bain Capitol bought the chain. I still have the switch tip in the bag, un-opened. I have vintage ones that I'd saved for years and didn't feel the need to use the cheesy looking ones they were using at that time.
It was delivered to GC on the 28th of Sept. 2002. I really have a hard time realizing that it sat there for 20 months and nobody bought it.
I went for it's first Makeover in 2007 and then again in 2011. The first time was for the trussrod/neck joint, fingerboard "A" package and was "accidently" striped so was refinished as a Cherry Sunburst. Then in 2011 I sent it to Kim for the whole RDS package. The original fingerboard on mine was Braz right from Nashville..
This is how it looked when I first got it:
