I seem to like lots of neck types. My Epi Tribute + has a wide, flat, medium thick neck. I've had Strats w/necks all over the charts, but all good. I like to work on guitars. Electronics or the setting up. I put the strings low as possible. On that '56, I would do a pup upgrade if really needed. All real-type P-90's are a little noisy. Gary Clark Jr. uses P-90's really well on his Casinos. I like that guy's work. Seems like there's a little Hendrix in him. I notice you have 3 Carvins. Those look to be well built. I've used their amps which are strong, toneful, & cheap.

The Carvin amps are discontinued. I've had them, but nothing beats a Soul Tramp.

I have been researching the Epi Tak Matsumoto DC Custom/Ebony. I'm noticing is that some have an ebony fingerboard while others present a rosewood fretboard. I know that ebony plays much better that rosewood. I must be missing something here. I thought that all black DC Customs included an ebony fretboard.

I looked up those 'SoulTramp' amps. Wow, a worthwhile investment. You wouldn't need another amp with that. Every day, it seems like I learn about another <quality> company. The competition only makes better stuff for us. I rewmember the old Carvin brochures/catalogs and wonder...How do those Carvin guitars match up? They always look great. M22 pups etc. Later.

Yeah, the Tak Customs made in 2014 have the ebony fret board. Oddly, some other years have rosewood. Being old school myself, a 'Custom' should always has an ebony board. I will simply by the 2014 model year Custom. These guitars are not easy to find here in the U.S. Paz.

If the Epi Tak has the same neck profile as the Gibson’s. I’d suggest trying one out before buying. The neck feels very different compared to other LPs.

    Thanks for the info.

Had two Taks, canary yellow lp and the double cut. Both of which I had trouble getting accustomed to,however, I had no problem with the classic’s and 335s slim taper neck.. weird.
