Hopefully this has sufficient Les Paul provenance for the MLP forum. :)

I won this guitar through Billy Rankin's morning show on Rock Radio in Glasgow, Scotland. It was actually through this show that I discovered Joe's music and was trying to find out more about his special blend of rock blues. Each day in the week-long run up to the tour for The Ballad of John Henry album coming to Glasgow, a few of Joe's songs were played and these were followed by a question about Joe. One of the days, I answered correctly and first (he's from New York), so won both a T-shirt and an entry into the draw for the signed guitar. The morning after the concert, my name got picked, I was phoned on air, sounded giddy to thousands of other listeners, and drove down to "Rock Towers" for a tour of the station and to collect my new guitar.

It is amongst my most prized possessions and something I'll never part with at any price.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Awesome guitar, Andrew, That's a great intro to the forums.

Joe posts here too so maybe he'll say hi? :)

    Enjoy! :)

    Thanks Darth!

Cool, I think I know which profile is his. :)

I shall indeed. The Epiphone doesn't receive the skill it deserves, but I tried to learn how to play the signature riff for John Henry (it seemed the thing to do) and it's almost recognizable. :hmm: More practice needed! :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

great story and great looking guitar. I know how you feel. 18 months ago I got a similar guitar signed by my guitar hero.:slash: I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have a video of Slash playing it before it was auctioned off for charity. Thanks for sharing.

I met Joe at a Rock Candy Funk Party show and he signed a LP pick guard for me.

He was very chatty with everyone there, which I guess ain't sayin' a lot since the place only help about 40 people LOL...

Cool guitar! :thumb: Do you play it occasionally or is it for display only?

Nice! I've seen him in concert in Glasgow twice - amazing sellout shows both times. I'm presently moving to the US (furniture and guitar are on a boat, I'm flying tomorrow), so I'll have to familiarize myself with his US tour dates. :)

You could even say it's priceless. :naughty:

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I play it occasionally. It still has the original strings. I'm very careful when I do play it.
