If it is that old - it should have a serial starting with letter(s)
I know. I was just answering the implied more general question regarding the possibility of a guitar being 10 years old yet still 'new'.
A serial like his ^^ can't be.....
something is wrong, that's why I asked for pics
Yes, I know this too.
I friend of mine has this EPi Lp from the late 90's..
With the SerialN: S6046472 .. What does it mean?? (I'll guess it's not made in the 60 month in year 1946
it is made by Samick, Korea - April '96
But in what way did you crack that code??
S = Samick
6 = 96 (they didn't used to put the final two digits of the year, just the last one)
04 - April
Just curious. Does the above code also apply to other Epiphone models manufactured or just the Les Paul? Recently picked up an Epi PR-350 acoustic w/ the following code in the sound hole on a sticker: P4120331. Peerless (Korea), 1994, December, 331st produced?
OK, I tried the guitar dater site and got nowhere-I just bought a used Epi Dot, SN 103090277. So it is from 2010, but I'm lost after that...
I think it is.....
I = Saein plant, Korea
i wish the dater did more than just the basic info, i wish it said what was originally shipped on the guitar, like nickel parts, or ebony fret board, what type of pups were in it....surely there is a way for it to know that mfg info
311528231 i need help getting info about this guitar.
Barcham's chart of factories is good info. The Dot I brought home today was made November of 2010 in Indonesia (it has a sticker that says so) the 5th and 6th digits are 23. My Riviera and Les Paul were both made in Qingdao and have 15 in the 5th and 6th position.
yea i just realized that...someone tried to paint over it.
Just trying to verify my Epi Les Paul. It's in such excellent condition I have a hard time believe my guesstimate
My info leads me that it is made in Samick Plant Korea in January,1992 production#3314
The serial is S9213314
Thanks for your help, and Happy Holidays.
Surely a January '92 serial number would start S9201 and not S921?
than there would only be 3 digits left ....
I think I've read somewhere that the month could be just one digit, too
and it would be 4 digits left for the production ranking/number
I'm not 100% sure, just 90%
My LP Special has the number P6003602 stamped on the neck plate. I understand the P stands for Peerless but the next two numbers which I'm led to believe usually refer to the year of manufacture are a bit confusing unless it was made in 1960 which is highly unlikely. Can anyone help me out there ?
I trying to verify my Epi Les Paul.
My info leads me that it is made in Bohemia Musico-Delicia
The serial is B30319057
year of production?
Thanks for help
