the serial on my guitar is on the back of the body on that metal plate where the neck is bolted on and it doesn't have any letters... it's made in Indonesia, the site didn't even recognize the serial.

I am having trouble ID'ing this Epiphone!
On the headstock it says Special Model with a Gibson plate (truss rod cover) on the Back of the headstoock is Stamped the numbers 2ND
on the plate where the neck screws on is this number: C197116398

I have tried a lot of sites (even the Guitar dater project listed above) posted it on the Gibson/Epiphone forum for a few days to no avail...
I Need to sell it, (heart attack just after I lost unemployment, and no insurance or savings ) I know it may not be worth anything, but with 2ND impressed in headstock it may be? I have had it a few years, it was used in a music store that is no longer in business , (in Bryson City NC) when I bought it.

So... can any of you experts here identify it?
I sure hope so and thank you in advance :)
I have some photos on the Gibson/Epiphone forum, Here:
i.d. your Epiphone here -- serial # key, guitardater link + factory codes... a worldwide guide >part 3 - Gibson Guitar Board - Page 20

Thanks in Advance for any help!
    Stan W.

So if my serial is 10041512462, then that means it was made in April 2010?

If thats correct then that also means that my guitar was sitting in a box waiting for me to pick it out for a little bit more than a year.

    What about 0901230012

Obviously January 2009 but from that code it seems as if it's the 12th off the production line? :S

I was thinking of buying an Epiphone Les Paul Ebony Standard, but the serial doesn't give me any results on that guitar dater website.
Can any1 tell me if this is a real or a fake?

I just purchased mine NEW last month, and it starts 0101, so you're telling me that a brand new plus-top was made in Jan 2001?? Over 10 years ago??

It's possible, yes. This would be what is known as NOS - new old stock.

I doubt that every guitar Epiphone ever made was sold within 1, 2 or even 5 years of its date of manufacture. They do make a lot of guitars.
