Don't know if t's cheap or not as don't know much about them but I find in the UK on sites like Gumtree is that most are not far off retail for general LP's and only now and again will you pick a 'bargain' up so most times worth just buying from a shop unless you want a specific model that isn't made or hard to find.

You can buy a used Gibson Studio and a used Epi Plus Top for 900 though. If you are lucky you can get em both in cases.

    Hi Nauc,

I have been mightily impressed with the Elitists I have played and a huge fan of Japanese guitars (I love Fender Japan especially and a lot of the Japanese Les Paul's).

Having said the, the third pupil (in as many weeks), bought in his new Epi LP Std (MIC) today and if this and what others are saying are anything to go by, then I think there clearly has been a huge improvement in Chinese made budget guitars (the higher end ones such as Eastmam have always been great).

I've done all my electric buying, gotten good deals etc on what I have, but if I was buying today, I think an Epi would be a consideration as much as a Gibson or similar brand.

    Matt

Japanese LPs are killer guitars, I've yet to encounter a duff one. It will be finished to a higher level than nearly everything but stuff from the Custom Shop.

And do you possess some alchemy to combine them both into one guitar of higher than Elitist quality? Because on their own, they don't come close to measuring up to an Elitist.

Great guitar in great condition but it's missing the original case, which is strange for a guitar that still has the hang tags. That knocks about $100 off the price. Considering the number of Elitists on the market these days, a more realistic price for that guitar would be in the $700-750 range.

I suppose at the end of the day it's preference. Although I do not dispute quality in any form.

When I posted that the highest bid was $599. The bidding went crazy at the last minute. I paid a lot less than that for my two Elitists too. That's not to say this GT isn't worth what it sold for, it's just more than I would have paid. :)

Now that is something I could get behind!

If he would come off $100, and I could find a sport to ship it.
