I’ll start with the same answer as given above, which is that you’d get more responses by starting a new thread in the main Epi section.

You’ll then need to post some detailed photos here for the experts if you want them to have a proper look.

I've been having a lousy time trying to search this subject so forgive me if it's been talked about before. I'm getting ready to re-wire my Epi LP and need to know what type of solder I should be using. I've heard 80/20 silver, 63/37 resin cored, use flux, don't use flux, I just wish I could get a straight answer. That's why I'm reaching out to this knowledgeable group of people!:dude:

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Thanks so much for the original post. I just recently got a used Epi Les Paul Jr (Heineken) guitar and now I know when and where she was made and what mods are worthwhile!

Yeah, that's what I thought, I just wondered whether it could be done.

Say, now, would you pay 510 bucks for the Epiphone LP Traditional Pro?

Seems a bit off topic, but I'll address it anyway. :thumb:

I use Kester 44, cheap and completely effective (No additional flux). I also have WBT silver lying around, but out of the 8oz spool that I bought for very special occasions, I may have used 0.005oz. It takes a little bit longer to heat up. Good luck!

    Hey Clasky, welcome to MLP.

If you'd like to post some pics we'll be able to let you know. If you're concerned it might be fake, post in the Fake Epiphone Thread. If you know it's genuine but just want model info, start a new thread.

One of the most frequently asked questions is what/whether people should change, including other things, pots and caps.

Doesn't that make the FAQ thread the natural place for questions like that to be?
