Yes it is MIJ, but not a late 90's Fujigen! More likely an early 80's Matsumoku Epiphone Les Paul!

It looks to me it has the "open book" headstock, so it is an epiphone japan model... so it should be made in japan. IMHO

it seems to be exactly that series yes :) the reddish inlays point to this direction as well. It also has the screw in the cavity, yes.

Also, it has killer tone and a great neck.

Well it has all the characteristics of the other ones you can find on the internet, as well as the serial number.

Could anybody say something about its value?

I would expect to pay less than a Fujigen made Epiphone Les Paul.

Personally, I enjoy Matsumoku guitars from 1980-1983, and even have a 1981 Epiphone Sheraton that is great to me.
However, the lack of nibs, reddish inlays, MMK-45 pickups??, undersized pots(Matsumoku used oversized pots in the Epiphone MIJ archtop line), suggests the Les Paul was ikely a lower end model at the time. Josh

Most likely rosewood. They might have ebonized it (dyed it darker), but it looks like rosewood from the naked eye. Josh

That open grain looks like RW to me. It looks a great guitar regardless of model, origin, etc. to me!

The fingerboard looks like ebonized rosewood, and not a bad job either. It does look very dry so you might address that issue. Depending on the age of the guitar you might want to be careful with how you treat the fingerboard.

To me it looks like rosewood, dark brown rosewood, like most of my MIJ LPs! HNGD!

Looks like a red burst version of my tobacco burst. Does it have the chrome Epiphone "E" tuners? I love mine!

Definitely looks like one of those '82 Matsumoku Epi's that don't exist.
