Anyone have one of these beauties? I have been gassing for a couple Epighones and this is on my list along with the Heafy 6 string.

I played a Heafy a while back and the build quality was exceptional and the playability was equally as good

    Anyone have either?

I got an IB55 a coupla months ago, secondhand in brand new condition. Didn't expect it to pass the test playing, but it did, so I snapped it up :thumb:

There's one at my local store; missed one last year and although I usually don't buy new, I'm very tempted to grab this one.

Played it a couple of times and while I was originally going to wait to find one on the used market, with a couple more plays, I might not be able to leave it there.

I ddefinitely at least want to play one someday. I would have bought one by now if it wasn't for buying recording gear.

    Another possible wallet dive.

Someone on Gibson's payroll knows what they're doing.

Yeah, it's just too bad all the guys who know what they're doing at Gibson are assigned to Epiphone/China instead of Gibson USA LOL.

Yes. Pretty much have not shut up about it since buying it. The only thing it needed was some 800 grit sandpaper to the fingerboard binding to make it feel a bit smoother on the edges.

    Anyway, get one.

I snoozed and lost on one of these recently. Had one at my local shop, played it a bit, surprised by how well it felt, not surprised at how well it sounded. Walked away to think on it and the next day it was gone.

I'm not big on buying online but I might make an exception here, it played every bit as good as it looks.

To be honest I would not hesitate to buy any premium Epiphone online. I am yet to play one I wouldnt consider top notch over the past few years. Very consistent.

If you are on the fence, grab it now! They are disappearing from the stores, probably they are not produced anymore (IIRC they are a limited edition). After couple of mods, I couldn't be more happy with a guitar like that.

I got one last year for Christmas, my wife completely shocked me and had it shipped to my work! When I played it out of the box (after a quick tune up) I was shocked at how full and loud it was for a solid body. ANYWAY, I LOVE it, it sounded great with the Gibson P90s but at a gig the hum was so loud even the drummer complained! So after MUCH research and obsessively worrying I got a set of Kinman HX P90s. It is only guitar I have used since! At gigs I always take a backup guitar and will feel like playing the backup for a set but after a short time I am hurting to hear the Epi 55 Tribute Les Paul. Great neck, my favorite sound and feel! Other guitar players have complimented the guitar also for the sheer great looks and the sound/sustain. I am in love with this thing. Sorry to go on and on, just excited still about this guitar. I have some Gibson's at the house but they do not see much action anymore except to noodle in the house once in awhile.

Hello JTM45, I call it my hundred pound violin, sound wise, not weight wise! Happy hunting!
