Whatever you guys do, don't start bidding on it until near the end of the auction. No reason to drive the price up prematurely!

This black Custom sold for $355 last week: Vintage Epiphone Genesis Mother of Pearl | eBay That was a lot less than I thought it would go for. It seems that the reissue has deflated the market for vintage units somewhat.

In any case, be aware that the sunburst Custom currently on eBay has been modded - the jack has been moved to the side and a tone knob installed in its place. The area around the old jack hole is cracked / splintered (a common problem), and the headstock is missing a bit of binding which indicates it's been dropped. The seller has not posted good photos of the neck joint, so buyer beware....

I'm watching but not bidding, but I'd expect it to go for under $400.

i cant bid on this black custom beaucose dont shipps worldwide,
looked good as a "project", was very very mistreated.
This sunburt is a very different thing, are in very good condition, spite of being modified (4 knobs) is almost new.
i hope can win this auction, but I think it will be difficult..
still missing 7 days and there are already 14 bids...

i dont believe the new ones "deflates" the value of the vintage Genesis,
    I think the opposite will.
I think the "vintage" should cost twice a minimum...
just waiting to see what happens
    wish me luck!

Here's mine. It's got a few dings on it but, it plays and sounds great. I had it refretted a few years ago with tall jumbo fretwire. I don't think I would ever sell it? I kind of wished, they would have kept the same knob layout and, headstock binding on the new ones.

Ya know, I usually look for strange/rare guitars as well as those that have dropped out of production and I have never seen one of these, it has a cool look to it.
Almost looks like a giant mandolin if you took away the horns, I'd play it.
