Thinking of buying one and was curious what other might think of them. Only issue is that id be buying it online, so dont have a chance to play one. The one i'm looking at is $300, which seems fair. I have an 84 lp studio and i really love the way that plays. Maybe it'll help to relate it to that. Any pics and opinions would be very appreciated as well as mentions of old band members who may have had one:applause:.

Those are cool - I understand they were built at the same factory that built the Ibanez Artists.

If they're even close to an Artist, you're getting a kickass guitar.

Looks like yer average double-cut to me.

That headstock, though - it's huge, even by Epiphone's standards.

Thanks, you beat me to it. Looks like any other old LP dc. Personally think the headstock is pretty cool. Looking like one'll come into my possesion soon. As for Loserface's original ugly comment, I already have a pretty sweet LP :applause: providing enough beauty for my stable. The genesis is just to mix things up:dude:.

Hideous and heavy as hell! My buddy had one. It delivered decent tone but was a beast, and not in a good way. Seriously, his guitar must have been pushing 12-13 pounds.

Damn, that's some weight. I don't even think my heavy Artist is that heavy.

Not to worried about weight. Used to play a peavey T40, a tank in and of itself.

So did you get it? I just found this thread, love my Genesis. Actually have 2 of them but only one is playable right now. Had the frets leveled and dressed, Tone-Pros bridge and new electronics, plays and sounds like a dream. I think mine's about 10 lbs according to my bathroom scale, just a hair lighter than my Les Paul Special. (srsly? srsly!)

i ended up finding one on the westcoast on craigslist, but it cost me $400. To make things worse, when i got it in the mail, the neck had broken, right where the neck is set to the body popped out. Paypal has refuted my claim and i am now down that money. very agrivating thinking about the genesis. Played one locally and loved the neck and sound, but this whole fiasco sucks.

Wow that sucks. Can it be fixed? My other Genesis was apparently left in a trunk here in AZ. The finish melted in places and the truss rod expanding cracked the back of the neck. Looked like it was only in the finish when I first got it but trying to adjust the truss rod showed the separation in the wood. Had it glued back in and it hasn't separated. Just need to get it in sometime for some fret work and I can maybe start using it. I love the neck profile on them.

I've been on the look out for one. They are heavy. Great guitar for the money. The ones in black remind me of Ace's old Tobacco that was modified into a double cut. But I'm jonesin' for a Darkburst Custom.

I'll post a pic tomorrow. Think its def repairable, but dont want to invest any more money to it. The break isnt that bad, in terms of long term damage.
