This should maybe be shuffled off the the "Other Epis" section. Regardless...

Err...wtf? Is it maybe never seen in the wild cuz the 1235 is a double neck mandolin?

I believe I saw one of the comments mention that it was. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't.

Chances are good that it is but if someone is interested in buying one, I'd advise contacting Customer Support and asking first.

It says mahogany body with flame maple top and mahogany neck. Me thinks someone is cut and pasting over at the marketing department.

They intentionally and specifically make these with laminated bodies for strength due to the weight of the two necks. The risk of warpage and the cost of better material and curing is way too high to be cost effective for an Epiphone.

I do not have gas, I remember the back pain from years past. Stand for a couple hours in the sun with a beast like that.

And who told you that? There are many companies making doublenecks out of solid wood at far less of a price point than Epi.

And why on earth would the body warp???? That is just silliness. My doubleneck is made of two pieces of Mahogany with maple necks and cost half of what the Epi cost. No warpage either ;)

Exactly. For anyone thinking of getting one of these, don't think that you'll be able to use it as your number one guitar. They are too heavy and very uncomfortable to play. They are very neck heavy and will neck dive, so you are holding up that weight while you play and it really is taxing and takes some getting used to. After a song and a half you'll be dying to put it down.

Actually, that came directly from Jim Rosenberg, Epiphone President, in a discussion about this guitar on the Official Epiphone Forum a number of years ago. You are welcome to contact him to dispute his statement. :D

[ Rude language ]. If anybody believes that plywood would be less susceptible tow warping deserves what they get. The do it for one reason, its cheaper. I have no problem with them making a plywood guitar. What I have a problem with is that they claim its mahogany, they don't state its plywood, and that $1200 is a ludicrous amount to charge for a plywood guitar. Then to lie about the reasoning behind it???

First of all the price is not $1200, it's $999.

Epiphone LE G-1275 Double Neck Electric Guitar

While it is multiply, it is a 'mahogany' multiply so listing that as the wood type is still correct. And of course, we are talking about the older models and have no idea whether these new ones are constructed in the same way as no one has contacted them to ask.

And once again, if you have a problem with the information and how it has been explained, take it up with Epiphone Customer Support. I'm sure they will be very happy to help you out. :D
