    Hello,

I want to put black P90 covers on my Casino, is it better to use P90 Dog Ear Pickup Spacers ? Black plastic covers are less high .

Does this pickguard fit my Casino ?

I feel bad no one replied.
I'm not sure, but looks right to me.

I agree to both your points.

I think the black dog ears would look great, and I would not have a pick guard, but I have a ES333 and it doesn't have a pick guard either, so I have to admit to being a bit biased in that case.

But measure the neck pickup cover and see if the clearance is ok on the pick guard neck pickup slot.

Hopefully, all you'll need is very little light sanding to dial it in perfectly.

Make sure pole spacing is correct. Don't assume.
If necessary, if you gave the old pick guard, you can have one made dirt cheap by using yours for a templet. I did.

Very nice! Looking at Casino / Coupe / Riviera options at the moment and really not keen on the whole chrome and white look: where did you get the replacement 'guard from?

    http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338014323&icep_item=161641005326

The design is perfect, plug and play ! With 5 ply and 60° beval the pickguard don' t look look too big compared to an other one.

    For exemple ...

I bought Gibson black covers for my 330 and they fit perfectly.
I like them so much better than chrome.

Thanks Charlie, this 5 ply custom pickguard with new bracket is very nice. I have black P90 covers but I don' t know if I will change them.

Anyway I will install a Frequensator tailpiece.

    My Epi ZBD had one.
I think the jury is out on whether they DO anything, but they look way cool.
And say "FREQENSATOR" right on them, which is, of course, the money.

I think the black covers would really round out the look.

I can tell you...I had a Casino awhile ago that would hang with my ES330 in EVERY way...including acoustically.
It even had a 1-piece neck with no scarf joint.
If it wasn't for the upper fret access (my 330 is a '69), I would have been very tempted to sell the 330, keep the Casino and buy something cool with the leftover $2k!

I so rarely play in the wheedly-whee-diddly range that that ain't a deal-breaker for me, lol.

I've heard this wheedly thing before...
It reminds me of the people who say they'd rather slow down and make every note count because they can't play fast.
There's more up there than wheedly, there is for me, anyway. It's just a little harder to make it sound good.
Try telling a pianist or violinist that you're taking away 20% of their instruments range and see how it goes for you.
