Walked into my regular pawnshop stops.

This Tom A was on the wall.

They were trying to move some guitars before the end of the year.

I told them if they'd make a killer cash deal, I'd run down the street to the bank for the money.

They gave me a really low price, but I countered with $300 less than that, and they agreed.

I got an AMAZING deal on the guitar.

Here's some pics of my '03 Tom Anderson Hollow T Drop Top Tiger Eye:

TA makes fantastic guitars, it’s unfortunate the resale value of these guitars are usually on the low side. And pawn shops will certainly take advantages on lesser known brands

I'm guessing they gave him about $400 tops.

Pretty sad for him, and awesome for me I guess.

The parts are worth well over $400..

Maple top with mahogany back? And I assume it’s a 90s to early 2000 TA

    It's a 2003.

Maybe he sold it instead of pawned it.

In that case, maybe he got $500-$700 for it.

I can't think he got anymore than that.

If that’s the case, not only did you score yourself a beauty but with a killer price to top.
    Congrats again!

I'm pretty sure I know what the seller got ... the shaft.

Sweet guit, OP. His loss, your gain.

If you're talking about the seller being the pawnshop, well then maybe.

I wouldn't say got the shaft, but they didn't get the profit they could have, if they'd done more research on the guitar.

My question is, who did they have to rob, to knock off $300?

    Awesome score!

How do you pawn a Killer TA for 4 bills? How do you get that desperate? Could have sold it on here lightening quick for 3X that.

Sometimes you just get desperate and have to have cash right now.

I'm sure that was the case here

TA has a relatively small community, shouldn’t be hard to get some history of the guitar. And I think I’ve seen this before somewhere (maybe)

    This has a 1 5/8 nut width?

I wanted to join the TA community, but it won't let me register.
    They're not accepting new members.

    Oh Well.

They stopped accepting “free” emails such as hotmail, gmail, etc... a while back. But you still can register with other email providers.

Tom is usually there to answer questions and he has pretty good memories of guitars that went through him.
