I just cannot understand why if you get drunk and kill someone with a car its manslaughter. If you get drunk and walk outside and while playing with a gun you kill someone its murder..

No way he should have got off with just probation.Only good thing about that is it offers up the chance that he might just have an accident of his own somewhere down the line...:hmm:

I also understand with crowdfunding if you ask for 10,000 and in the allotted time you don't make the full amount you get nothing. Hope that is true..

Electric head, the answer to your question is.... "we don't actually care about DWI in this country".

It's mainly a money game for everyone involved, except the victims. Since too many people drive while impaired, you don't get stiff sentences.

If the same number of people were shooting guns off every day, you'd end up with the same lax punishment.

I could end DWI in a year. End it.

First offense, jail for year, lose license for life.

Second offense (or caught driving without license)...25 years.

When people look at DWI as more risky than robbing a bank or killing someone, they'll call a cab a little more often. Or maybe stop drinking like a selfish asshole.

"The account was deleted Tuesday after several of the victims' family members and friends discovered the account and posted dozens of comments on the page."

    Also,

"It's unclear if the account was deleted by Nieves or GoFundMe officials. Nieves deleted his Facebook page on Tuesday.

According to Desso, the GoFundMe account hadn't raised any money before it was deleted this week."

Is day parole what it sounds like? Out and about during the day and just check in to eat sleep and get free law advice?

How does one sign up for this without being affluent and stupid?

Brother, I generally think we do the right thing with convicts, but every now and then one story makes you sick. Drunk and kill people? It's murder. Same for drugged, fatigued, careless, distracted drivers who kill. How this fuck gets to lessen his sentence while others serve it out is beyond me. Better lawyers with more connections? It sucks, reminds me of the affluenza puke family who got away with the same.

I think day-parole involves living in a halfway house. It'll be outrageous if he gets it. That he can apply for it is awful.

I worked for a guy on weekly parole (I don't know if that's the proper term, but that was how he served his sentence). Out on Monday at 6AM to run his small business (electric sign repair), back on Friday at 6 PM sharp. I picked up and dropped him off a few times. One time I had to go for a walk so he could bang his chick in the pickup truck in the jail parking lot. Then I had to drop her off. I can't remember what he was in for, I think it was theft and trafficking.

I love the dirt bag saying in his crowdfund add that he needs the 10k to pay for all the damages.

He was trying to sucker people into giving him the money he was ordered to pay the victims family by painting a poor me picture. Said among the other bs that he was unfairly booted from the service. Extreme asshole.

I knew a guy who worked out a similar weekends in jail thing so I've been told. Blew my mind to hear about that but to imagine letting someone check in and out daily would be mind blowing to me.

I'm not a lawyer, I've never even played one on tv, but I think the difference between manslaughter and murder is intent.
Not that I agree with that, but it's my understanding of how they categorize it.

My personal belief is that if someone drives drunk, the law should consider them as someone who intended to kill people with a 4,000lb weapon.
If they make it home without it happening it's just blind luck.

It's a touchy subject for me.
I believe that drunk drivers are lower than pond scum and shouldn't even get a trial.
There's no excuse, and I'd give no mercy.

I'm glad that link doesn't contain a link to the go-fund page.

There have been dip-shitz here in the past who would actually fund it.

-Which is why we don't allow "gofundme" links on MLP.

$hit people do and lack of responsibility (speaking about the DWI guy) absolutely amaze me sometimes.
