We woulda hunted those...
Here we go.
Somebody above said something about being nice to the mils cuz they'd be changing our diapers. We'll be lucky if they don't take us out back and shoot us. I would.
Nah, I love you guys, I'm just kidding but no seriously, the hippies did ruin everything.
We suck. We have had and continue to have help ruining things though. It takes a village.
I will give the baby boomers props though in some regards, mainly for producing Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, you guys did get that one right.
Rock and roll wasn't too bad either. Neither of those guys plays drums. Who needs 'em?
It is not like I am sending a random invite out of the blue. This is during the actual back and forth with the question ending the conversation. Like almost as if they or their phone died the instant they received my invite. Now when someone is actually busy and can't get back to you in a timely fashion I am starting to assume it is the "silent no".
I've got mil friends. As I'm a pre-boomer, they know they can't text me as I have no cell phone. They have to call me on my land line and leave a message if I'm not at home. I call them back, and no problem. They do things their way and I do things my way, and somehow we just get along.
One thing I disagree with are the posts blaming the boomers for messing everything up for the mils. The boomers tried to stop it. They just didn't succeed. And they are damned sorry for that. Maybe the mils will succeed. Sure hope so.
Well leave it to a millennial to think the crowning achievement of the boomers is cranking out the Iphone.
Well, not quite. The boomers brought you things like the EPA and Civil Rights. And a lot of us boomers (and pre-boomers) don't even know how to use iPhones, and don't want to learn how! And we brought you much of the music you play now, right? I can't post about when, and why, and under whom things went to hell for gen X and the mils, because it would be political and not allowed here. And it is good that we can't post anything approaching political here, because these days this forum would turn into a big cat fight. So suffice it to say, if the gen Xers or the mils don't like the way things are, it is not the fault of the boomers, except that they didn't succeed in what they wanted things to be.
iFern! I Lerve iFern!
"Buy this thing that's shiny!"
100% of generalizations are false.
They dont come around here. They know I'm rude.
They have no one to blame but themselves. I'm a Gen X'r, instead of blaming everyone and championing ridiculous causes I went out and got mine.
I grew up in NYC public housing. I guess it was a blessing. Roaches, rats, the smell of urine and murderers on every corner didn't provide the same level of comfort that a command center in Mom's basement appointed like a high end electronics store does.
haha....hey, good for you!
If generalizations cost a dollar, this would be an expensive thread.
Right. But just about everybody still generalises anyway...
Including this one.
