In August I ordered a set of Arcane Phil X humbuckers from Phil's site.

Now I have ordered the Arcane PX100 from him before. It took a while, but it eventually showed up, and is a great pickup.

But this time around, there was no communication. I sent several emails asking about the order, only got one reply saying the order status would be checked, than nothing. I'm a patient man, but I want to know if they are being made or not.

After 4 months of being in the dark, I had enough and filed a dispute with paypal. They gave him 10 days to reply to the dispute, nothing. My money was refunded.

I used to be a big fan of Phil X, but after this experience...not so much anymore. If the pickups aren't for sale anymore, at least let your fans know that.

Has he been on tour? Would he have the business sense to have a retail manager?

Phil X comes across as a major a-hole with huge ego problems.

I liked it him on Fretted Americana because he was the only one playing vintage guitars the way they should be, loud and crazy.

Why not go directly to Arcane to order?

Phil X is one of the artists that Arcane lets sell direct via the artist's own site.

similar experience with Arcane not replying to calls or emails.

I've tried a few of Arcane's offerings. The Brownbucker is alright. The Mr. Scary is not.
