Live, it used to be two beers, just to drop the inhibitions a bit....then water the rest of the night....now its just ...."Jeeze I'm tired just setting up!!" So live playing is difficult without help now days....Weed would just make me paranoid and possibly delusional that the girls in the front row are vampires and want my blood meal before the set ends.....or something therebouts...

oh wait ....what girls in the front row!!?

Try a Sativa. If you felt sleepy, you probably had an Indica or a hybrid. :)

It’s Westboro. If you weren’t stoned all the time you’d know this. F’n burner.

Smoking weed never made me do anything better, or enjoy anything more than usual. To each their own, I've never really enjoyed it period. Gave me horrible anxiety and just a dull feeling overall. Other people love it though. Some people like it for pain, which is a much better alternative to opioids and other addictive pain killers. I think it definitely has it's good usage and should be legalized nationwide, even though I totally hate it.

It most certainly enhances MY enjoyment.

I never thought it made me play any better...

if I’m honest I’d have to say there were some times it made me worse.

He didn’t ask if it made your playing better. He asked if I’d made you enjoy it more.

Weed’s a funny thing...I sometimes think that no two people get stoned the same on it.

    Edited

Based on my experiences using it, I don't think it made me like anything better than normal. Obviously that's not the case for everybody.

I need to do some research, what gives a 70's mellow buzz? I've heard horror stories about overdoing it with the new weed.

When I was young (late teens) and I was playing 250 gigs a year my chops were getting good. But more importantly, was the massive confidence. Once you have that then it opens you right up. So for me weed was just another way to open up creatively, my fingers knew what they were doing, I didn't have to think about them...it was all about the creativity, not the mechanics.
But anyway, yeah I've got studio recordings of me back then after smoking a fat one and there are some solos that I'm still very proud of ....and that I wouldn't be able to play again with the same 'je ne sais quoi'

Slug, talk to your local budtender. They will help you find what you need.

I hear ya, Fred. when I was smoking it pretty much all day every day was when I was gigging the most. I think it was to alleviate the interminable periods of boredom in that lifestyle. Don't know. I would hear recordings after playing that were pretty suspect....but that happens when stone cold sober. Perception is reality.

Late 70s - early 80s it absolutely seemed to. Was part of the band / jam ritual.

Had a few tokes in 1999 for old times sake when I played bass in the last band I was in. It was really good weed, absolutely tore me up. I kept getting lost in the songs like a n00b.

I hated when a band member showed up drunk, stoned or buzzed. Loose is nice but loose often translated into missed cues, late to the stage, overly long tuning between songs and a lot of other annoying things.
