Don't start that up again!......
You'll get merged! I'm tellin ya!
Apparently, seems to be someone posing as ol Henry. Hmmm.
Here's the link. Tried screenshot of it, shrinks the image somehow.
That was Henry.
Derfuq? That's a lowly Fusion. I wanted one in that very color to put a Maestro Vibrola on... after re-setting the neck... and... oh, never mind. One less for me to have.
Learn about what? Corksniffery?
Each to his own I suppose
No, I learned a lot about vintage guitars, and different aspects of historics. Don't discount the years of experience from guys over there like Tom Wittrock, Big Al, and many others, that have shared their knowledge and actually contribute to what these forums are really about.
As far as your cork sniffery remark if you think it's not alive and well right here your not being honest with yourself.
I use a guitar as a tool to make music, if a vintage guitar is a good guitar its good but I don't pray to any altar.
I don't know why your directing your comments to me, I don't care about your tools, or your condescending cork sniffer remark.
I cant see in any of my posts where I refer to praying at anyones alter.
This forum is a result of the Les Paul Forum hence my " B " team remark, lets get over that. Many of us here are members of both forums.
Here is a fact, Gibson is still up and running and until the company goes bankrupt and dissolves itself, my restructuring comment is a fact. Its to redistribute debt, not a pathway to bankruptcy. And for all those that claim they know what is going on internally at Gibson, lets get real we don't know jackshit about what goes on inside the company. Does anyone here chat with Henry to see what his next move is?
People buying used have nothing to do with QC, or products, I don't get the connection. If QC Is an issue why buy used at all, buy something else.
I never said Gibson manipulates what goes on HERE, read my post.
I know it's really popular to dog Henry, but he sat in with my old band on many occasions and actually loaned me a really nice Les Paul bass to play quite often. So irrespective of popular opinion, he's been cool to me. All of my interactions with him have been positive, something that may or may not be true with everyone else's interactions.
Work with him.
Hey, Flea.... am I remembering correctly or did you work for Gibby some years back? IIRC you posted briefly about the experience a while back.
Might help to qualify your comment and as a refresher course...
I'd be interested.....
I've heard worse. I always found the other forum pretty helpful though I never spent a lot of time there. Lots of knowledgable people at both forums. I have learned a ton about LPs and so on since coming to these places. About all I ever did before was just play them....not sure if this is progress or not.
Yes, there is a great deal of legit information on the Other Forum, from guys who actually possess and/or have worked on vintage Gibbys. Very useful, provided you have a corksniffery filter installed (actually, the worst corksniffery comes from the R/TH/CC guys, not the vintage owners). However, like children, the expectation is that you be seen and not heard, except to raise your hand and ask respectful questions.
We tried, when Henry started his own (4Henry forum). He didn't care to listen. Which is funny, because that was the whole reason for it - to open a dialogue with the "fans".
Who are we to question his special attraction for you?
It's just a joke, folks.
Just a joke.
Oh, I worked there.....had to endure MANY instances of sitting thru Henry's playing, all of us nodding in agreement of what a rocker he was! It was like watching Kim Jung Un playing and hoping he doesn't have you killed because you did not look enough in awe of the awesomeness
(A) there is only one opinion that matters
(B) see (A)
Pretty much sums it up.
