I swear the junior and special double cut went up 10% on Jan 1?
‘‘Tis the season.
Fu$k yeah they did.
I was going to pull the trigger on the RD or the Firebird Elite....jackoffs raised price $300 on on the RD and $400 on the Elite.
Sweetwater put the RD at $1999 just like Gibson Website moved to.
ZZounds still has the RD for the $1799..
Shoulda pre-ordered it when it was $1699 and used the 48mo financing.
I'll wait again...still wanting something in a Silverburst...
Here's to hoping.
Gibsons are nice, but not worth it. Charging inflated prices for a name is kinda evil if you ask me.
Edit: I realize that I'm on a board for Gibson Les Pauls, but keep in mind that it's just my opinion
Works for me
Like baseball players salaries if people are willing to pay it they're willing to take it.
Can't blame the recipient.
In 2018's CNC world are the prices justified?
Apparently some think so.
I wanted a P90 guitar, and thought the junior and special were a little high before. Oh well I'll look around. I bought my GC Jr with a HB for like $699 or less in '11, still have it-one of my longest owned guitars.
I guess. I can really only speak for myself though. And Gibson does have their budget models, but they make them really unattractive IMO. Like they may as well just paint the word "Budget" on the body in huge letters. And I get that playing guitar isn't like an EA video game where the best players are those that have the most money, and that good tone lies with the player. It just makes me shake my head when I see a $4000 Gibson guitar and wonder what the selling point is besides the name on the headstock. Tbh, if I want a Gibson style guitar (no matter what model) there are enough alternatives that Gibson won't be my first choice.
Gibson can't just keep rising their prices because things are not going so well for them.
I can't believe they are struggling anyway, they are probably the most well known guitar on the planet.
If they keep jacking up their prices they are going to end up in more trouble.
Raise the quality and keep it consistent, then perhaps the price hikes will be a bit more palatable.
What else could it possibly be?
Well some people around Internet forums tend to get irate when an opinion is stated. Not had that issue here, but better safe than sorry
See the prices on 2017s?
Wait 6 months, and you'll be paying similar for a 2018.
Sadly the Used prices are ridiculous.
This thread (the subject, not those posting) makes me think of that scene with Jack White in the beginning of "It Might Get Loud" where he nails the pickup to the 2x4
I thought I was imagining it. I could have sworn the 2018 Classic with P90s was $1,999. Now it's $$2,199.
Oh well. I don't need it. Just had a slight infatuation. I'm over it now.
Stick it to HenryJ - buy used.
The entire Gibson/Epiphone family raised all prices in the 10/20% range, sometimes even more.
Latest guitars I bought, now costs 20% more, average.
Henry is trying to save the boat.
