I wish more guys would "take a shot at it" my friend.. We can only learn from each other by listening. All too often only a tiny group of guys play in this thread.

You have come along in your playing over the years I know you. Keep it up brother newbie

Finally had a chance to listen to everybody...

Great as always frank. I'll never get tired of those runs like you played right after the first change.

Just plain tasteful throughout with bursts of insanity. Love it.

Great control Len. Each key had a different feeling. I really enjoyed it.

You're really good with working off of motifs. Really makes it sound like a song rather than solos running rampant. Something I need to work on myself.

Loved the tone and you had some great harmonics poking through on both tracks. Good stuff.

Dang, you really made that thing sing after the first change paradice. Got the heart pumping.

It's not the easiest track neuby, but you did a great job with it. Taking a shot is how we all get better.

    Great job everybody:applause:

Hope to stop being lazy and lay down a full track myself soon :thumb:

Try mixing in some major pentatonics next time you play it. Also, try Dorian Scales if you know them. If not...well, let's get cracking... hahahaha

Yeah, I should do that:) I just started mixing minor and major Pentatonics, going to work on that first.

But yeah, I should try to escape the pentatonic prison XD

I agree. Plus when you go back & listen to yourself you'll hear things in your own playing. Good or bad. Didn't quite get the bend, that note sounded great over that chord, etc.

Yes my friend. I say it all the time. A player should be recording every practice session they have. If they are not setup to do that.. Well, make that your New Year resolution.

Nothing wrong with playing Pents all the time. Most solos you hear from the greats were constructed with just that scale. But that shouldn't stop us from wandering out and into new sounds.

If you are going to wander out.. Start with only two modes of the major scale. The Dorian and the Mixolydian. They will give you the minor and major framework for future riffing. Learning just those will give you a great accent to your playing.

    My hero... Says it best.
