Im a big fan of vintage MIJ guitars.
There is a guitar for sale locally for $479 (New Zealand Dollars). It's a 1982 Daion Savage. I have inspected it and it looks okay.
Seems to have nice dimarzio pickups.
Does anyone know anything about Daion guitars.
    Is $479 a good deal?
Should i jump on it or pass?

Do what you can to talk them down a little. Point out the flaws, the finger smudges, the neck that needs adjusting....Shake the guitar, hear the tuner rattle and complain that sounds like a loose truss rod. ;)Whatever you can to get them to lower the price a bit.
(479 works out to 350 USD... I'd buy it. )
if that doesn't work, pay what they are asking, and giggle on the way out the door.
It's a semi rare Japanese made guitar, with a good reputation for the company. I have worked on a couple, and they always impressed me.

Pricing varies here in the States from 400 up.
    here's a selection from Reverb.

    hope that helps

Okay, so...I went a totally different direction.
    I bought a Gibson 65 non-reverse Firebird :)
