Looks like he chipped the face of the headstock when messing with the nut and tried to drop fill it poorly. Either that or he threw acetone on it out of spite.

In another thread, he put on a braz board and refinished an LP, and it looked great, so I posted a pic of Homer Simpson drooling, and he took it wrong and got a little bent out of shape.

It sucks when someone doesn't get the obvious joke, but that spoke volumes about his personality.

After that experience and seeing the pics of the OP's Custom, I'm of the opinion that Mr. Beef is a rather angry, unhappy individual, and I hope he gets over his issues and does right by the OP.

To add to the epoxy or something on the headstock, there's also a nickel sized blob of whatever on on the body...far away from the neck near the jack plate(not pictured). It may indeed be intentional.

I catch up on this thread whenever I see it.
It's really sad that this is not settled yet.

And yet it seems like his banner is at the top of my screen each time I log onto MLP :hmm: Should the site still be promoting this clown in the circumstances?

Don't think this is going to be sorted, which is so depressing, but I'm sure that I won't confirm my Premium MLP subscription for the next year, with this bungler being a Sponsor of the site.

I think it's pretty sad that Mr. Beef can't stand by his mistakes and buy the guitar back from the OP :(
Come on Mr. Beef - stump up the cash and say sorry!

Really dumb question; Is the site staff aware of this situation?

If they weren't at this point, then I don't think they deserve their job.

Their job? I think the mods are volunteers. Why don't you take the time to contact them directly about your grievances.

    Really dude?

We are all very aware of this situation, and are working behind the scenes to help resolve the issue.

And YES, the thread will stay open until all parties are taken care of and all issues resolved.

If you don't like the thread, there's a simple solution; ignore it.

If you don't have business here and don't have a dog in this fight, then stay out of it.

The tag stays for a while, despite a sponsorship being removed. Rest assured we are on the case of this, and have a very high success rate of resolving these issues.

-And we do that on our own and as a courtesy. We are not required nor responsible for business transactions on this site.

I was not aware that this was not a business responsibility of yours as I was under the impression it was such from the way Beef's content has been presented on the site. The fact that he accepts commissions from other users of the site and that MLP sponsors his work implied a business tie.

Thank you for clarifying and apologies if I caused offence.

We provide a place for our sponsors to do business here with certain perks afforded by the fees they pay for their sponsorship. We in no way are responsible for their business practices, quality of work, "deals gone bad" etc. We have also suggested in the past that if someone is considering goods and/or services from one of our sponsors, to check their rating, product/service reviews, ask other members who've bought from them or retained their services, etc. But we are in no way responsible for them, forum members or the business between the both.

    That being said..

If a sponsor or vendor here has done someone wrong (or in some cases several people), we will do all we can to help rectify the situation. A few of our mod staffers have gone to great lengths with amazing results by "holding their feet to the fire" and allowing them to stay and redeem themselves. Most of the time, it ends with the customer getting his stuff back, or money back, or otherwise satisfied. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes they don't redeem themselves, sometimes they do. More often than not, things eventually work out.

Letting the mod staff help in the process without badgering them, especially if it's none of anyone's personal business has proven to be a better path to satisfactory results.

There are members here involved in a bad deal that the mod staff worked on that will testify to that.

    Thank you Dave.

I was getting ready to send my '62 LP Jr in my avatar to be refinished by Mr Beef.
    So glad I held off.
