IMG_0742.PNG I can pick up this guitar yo for $300 cad.
Guy says it has the push/pull knobs which come on the plus tops. The first thing that concerns me is the truss cover. It has the "E" and not the normal engraving for a 3-4 year old guitar. Second, I entered the serial in the guitar dater to see if any clarification could be made regarding the cover but ther serial was not found.

Anyone have any insight on this?

No pic of the serial, but when I asked for it he sent it to me.

I was just trying to correlate if the guitar matched the serial. Then it's just a simple trc swap.

Paruwi, he says it has push/pull knobs, is this a LP standard plus top?

    It is a refurbished guitar...

Typical MIRC serial# starting with 311 on a golden sticker

    Ok cool.

    What is MIRC?

So in your expert opinion, is the trc just been replaced by the owner? Or the factory seeing it's a refurb.

Also without the proper trc do you think it's a plus top pro based on the information given?

    MIRC Refurb Label
Serial numbers starting with '311xxxx' on a golden sticker are 'refurbished' guitars sold by MIRC (Musical Instrument Reclamation Center)

    • There is no way to tell the year or the month it was made in the MIRC serial
    • Original serial numbers are usually defaced
    • Original warranty void
    • Sometimes the word "2nd" is stamped on back of headstock
    • MIRC specs can often be different from stock specs

However having a "2nd" stamp doesn't make it a refurb. It indicates a finish issue that the factory decided not to deal with.
My "2nd" with a finger print in the stain prior to clear coat.

No, just clarifying for the OP. There seems to be a lot of confusion about refurbs and seconds. Sorry, wasn't meaning to step on toes.

At least you got the bastard's fingerprint.
Now, all you need to do is hire a private eye
to track him down and get him to fix the damn thing!

I can live with all kinds of 2nd's but having someone else's finger print on my fiddle would bug the sh out of me.
